The grounds are located in the rolling hills of Pakenham Upper, the facility is shared by the Pakenham Pony Club and Adult Riders Club with very active members that have developed the grounds over many years. In 2009 it was decided to change the event from its normal February time slot and it will now be held November each year. The XC course provides good footing with deep grass cover in a high rainfall area.
The event showcases an upgraded XC course. The Pakenham Pony Club has continued to develop the XC course with improvements to track quality and built several new portable XC jumps. Our main arena has also undergone a major upgrade and resurfacing.
Our XC course again starts higher and gently follows the line across the land contours, working its way downward then with a short uphill run to the finish line. Recent improvements to our XC course for this year’s event include; grading of current tracks and cutting of new tracks, re-positioning of the start box that provides a significantly larger warm-up area and improves the first section of the course.
All Dressage and Showjumping conducted on all weather sand arenas. Full canteen facilities available including breakfast from 7am - Camping is available on Friday & Saturday night. There is ample parking for trucks and floats and attendants on duty to assist if required.
